How We Spend Our Time
Right now were based in the United States (though were we actually are changes all the time). We like to travel at least once a month and spend at least three months out of the year away from home. The beauty of our work is that our daily routine doesn’t change appreciably based on where we are. Here are some items you might see us doing on a frequent basis.

What Our ‘Work’ Looks Like:
Vanessa: My work is usually writing articles for my blogs, emailing other websites to post or cross link content, meeting with possible business partners and talking to consulting clients on the phone.
Scott: I usually start my mornings by checking the previous days statistics on my marketing campaigns (10 mins) and answering emails from my assistants (10 mins). Thats the most important and most productive time of my day. After that I spend time researching new business ventures, planning future trips, writing and producing information for this site, and relaxing!
What Our ‘Play’ Looks Like:
Vanessa: I read A LOT–everything from the New Yorker to Teen Fiction. I also write for fun (short stories and novels) which I do not consider part of my work. I spend a good amount of time with my family, playing board games and hanging out with my sisters on Sundays. One of my passions is also planning a lot of events for my group of friends like subway adventure trips, wine tastings, themed parties and hearing interesting speakers or concerts. When I am not cooking (often) Scott and I are foodies and you can often catch us trying new restaurants all over town.
Scott: I access everything in my business life through my laptop, so you would think I would want to put them down when I’m not working. You’d be wrong however. I’m a nerd at heart, and I love playing video games, reading blogs, checking out the latest iPhone apps, or twittering. My hobby outside the digital world is flying, plane and simple. I love to take an afternoon and fly – not going anywhere in particular.
The In-Between of Mobile/Traveling Workers:
There is a lot of work/play grey area that fills our days as well. Some of these activities include:
- Business lunches with interesting people who specialize in a almost any topic. We want to learn as much as we can about everything.
- Technology Conferences or Events such as Mindshare and CES to meet people, collaborate, keep up on trends and network.
- Reading tons of technology blogs, newspapers, Digg, Twitter and RSS feeds for pleasure, news and ideas.
